A Curious Mind

When questioning nature, life, the existence of everything, the mind can run wild, crazy, thinking of immense impracticalities………But are they?

Well, in my opinion, I believe that if it imaginable then it must be possible, if not now maybe for the future, I guess!

As a young boy, I used to imagine other humans, but much larger, so big that we were unaware of their existence. Unaware due to the incredible small nature of us, such as that of bacteria or even smaller like a molecule or even an atom. These larger humans would look at us through a microscope, trying to understand our being. I would imagine this process occur again, and again, never-ending. Clearly, this conspiracy is not true, but the thought did make me question how the world around us; existed. Yet, I am not the only one, millions of people, at one moment in their life has stopped to………..think, observe, listen and then wonder.

Our understanding is the basis of the discoveries and achievements that we know to date, so how can we believe something is not possible until we have discovered everything. Well, maybe not,

not even I believe this concept, but this type of thinking does inspire questions like, what if? How does? Why? It is this questioning, this curiosity, that encourages the learning and understanding of those silent thoughtful moments.

A famous quote by Albert Einstein:

The important thing is not to stop questioning. Curiosity has its own reason for existing. One cannot help but be in awe when he contemplates the mysteries of eternity, of life, of the marvellous structure of reality. It is enough if one tries merely to comprehend a little of this mystery every day. Never lose a holy curiosity.

From the memoirs of William Miller, an editor, quoted in Life magazine, May 2, 1955; Expanded, p. 281

Hopefully, Albert wasn't talking about the curiosity rover on Mars…….. I know the bad joke.

So, be curious and let your mind wander, think about all the stars, galaxies the universe, the unexplored land and sea waiting to be discovered, or even life at the micro-level.
